Whistler in the Dark is proud to present the New England premiere of In On It, Daniel MacIvor's elegant examination of the love and loss as seen through the lens of a struggling creation. Two men, known only as This One and That One, are creating a play...or celebrating their relationship...or tearing it apart. Bitingly funny, wildly imaginative and whimsically heartbreaking, In On It is a puzzle that ultimately reveals how lives can intertwine in unintended and unexpected ways. Like the threads of a grey lambswool jacket.
In On It serves as the opener to Whistler in the Dark's 5th season: Blood & Water: Ties of Biology and Circumstance. This season, the company wrestles with definitions of family, exploring the most intimate bonds of familial ties through the lens of three wildly different plays and asking the following questions: What does family mean? Does it provide comfort and solace? Pain? Frustration? Is your family the o
Ne You were born into or the o
Ne You chose for yourself? Please join the Whistlers as This One and That One help define one version of family.

About Whistler in the Dark Theatre
MEG TAINTOR, Artistic Director
MISSION STATEMENT
We believe that the unique relationship between the actors and the audience make theatre a powerful tool for exploring some of the most fundamental questions about what it means to be human. Whistler in the Dark Theatre is a non-profit organization that strives to develop an ensemble of theatrical artists dedicated to producing plays that explore these questions and that celebrate the imagination through linguistic acrobatics and a stripping away of extraneous trappings. We hope to provoke the senses by focusing on the primacy of the actor in space.
HISTORY
Whistler in the Dark Theatre is an exploration. Founded by Ben Fainstein and Meg Taintor in September 2005, its inception was sparked by the desire to delve into vividly dramatic texts and to bring back young people to the theatre.
During its first four seasons, Whistler has presented eight full-length plays, and sponsored three years of FeverFest - a festival devoted providing opportunities to connect exploratory artists with adventurous audiences by creating an outlet for innovative, cutting-edge, and contemporary performance in the Greater Boston area.
Whistler received an Elliot Norton Award nomination for its production of Howard Barker's The Possibilities.
