The Weston Friendly Society, now entering it's 125th Anniversary
Season, is pleased to announce auditions for "Anne of Green Gables: The Musical". This classic story recounts the poignant and funny story of Anne Shirley, the spunky, red-headed orphan who comes to Prince Edward Island hoping to find a happy home. Adapted by Donald Harron from the novel by L. M. Montgomery, with music by Norman Campbell, "Anne of Green Gables" is sure to be a hit with the entire family.
Auditions will take place on Tuesday, September 8th and Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 at the Weston Town Hall (Townhouse Road, Weston, MA). Auditions for children (2nd grade through age 17) will begin at 6:30 PM and auditions for adults (18+) will begin at 8:00 PM. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time to fill out paperwork. Callbacks will be held on Thursday, September 10th at 7:00 PM.
Auditioners should come prepared to sing a song from the musical theater repertoire (please bring sheet music) which they feel best displays their voice. A short dance routine will be taught at the time of auditions, so please wear suitable clothing and shoes. Cold readings from the script will be done at callbacks.
Performances will be as follows:
Saturday, November 28th at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, November 29th at 2:00 p,m.
Saturday, December 5th at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 6th at 2:00 p.m.
