Boston's Company One is presenting GRIMM, a series of short plays based on Grimm fairy tales, through August 14, The New York Times reports. Each play is by a different playwright.
Among the plays is THE SEVEN STAGE A COMEBACK, written by Gregory Maguire, author of the novel 'Wicked.' THE SEVEN STAGE A COMEBACK, adapted from a previous story by Maguire, is based on 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.' Maguire told the Times, "Just because they were dwarfs doesn't mean they were neutered...If they had more complexity what would they make of the story?"
GRIMM includes six other plays: John ADEkoje's CRY BABY JONES, Lydia Diamond's THE WHITE BRIDE AND THE BLACK BRIDE, Marcus Gardley's HALF-HANDSOME AND REGRETTABLE, Kristen Greenidge's THANKSGIVING, John Kuntz's RED, and Melinda Lopez's STORIES ABOUT SNAKES.
