The Un-Common Theatre Company is currently accepting applications for three $500 college scholarships. One is available to a Mansfield High 2009 graduate, one to a Foxboro resident who is a member of the Class of 2009, and the final one to an Un-Common Theatre Company Alumni who has participated in any aspect of an Un-Common production, including acting, directing or technical assistance.
Now in its 29th year, the Un-Common Theatre Company is one of the only children's theater companies in New England that provides aspiring young actors, singers, musicians, and technicians an opportunity to work under the guidance of theater professionals and perform in professional theater houses. Un-Common traditionally offers the Mansfield High School Scholarship as a thank you for their generous use of the school facilities. The Foxboro and Alumni scholarships are offered through the generosity of High Note Realty. "Our children can gain a great deal through participation in the arts and these experiences can greatly impact their success in life," said Chris Lowey, Un-Common Board Co-President. "I am so pleased to support Un-Common's vision to develop the life skills of youth through the professional theatrical experience and to help students continue their pursuit of the arts," added Joyce Parlapiano, Un-Common Board Member and Broker and CEO of High Note Realty.Videos
