Based on Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling, HONK! JR. tells the story of Ugly (Anthony D'Amore, Norton, MA) who looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters (Charlotte Dussault, Thomas Zinno, and Nolan Zibrak, Sharon, MA; Sophie Newman, Attleboro, MA; and Addison Regan, Plainville, MA) and parents (Abbi Lightbody, Walpole, MA and Dillon Lightbody, Wrentham, MA). The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother's protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat (Elena O'Keefe, Mansfield, MA). Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be. HONK! JR. is sure to delight all ages with its heartwarming and witty story filled with unique charm and memorable scores.
The young cast of talented first through sixth graders is guided by Director and Westwood High School Senior Erin Fitzgerald (Westwood, MA). Choreography has been created by North Smithfield High School Senior Jamie Schmidt (Forestdale, RI) with Music Direction by Linda Barbieri (Attleboro, MA).
