The Longwood Players will present Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen, directed by Jessica Ernst, running November 15-23, 2013 at the Cambridge YMCA Theatre.

Witness the private drama that unfolds as The Longwood Players revives Henrik Ibsen's classic play "Hedda Gabler." Hedda is an intelligent, ambitious young woman struggling to adjust to her new marriage in late 19th century Norway. Confined by society's expectations of women, Hedda feels like an outsider with no power to achieve her own dreams. In her desperation to feel in control, Hedda thrusts herself into the academic rivalry between her new husband George and a man from her past, with disasterous consequences. Hedda Gabler reveals the universal desire to be the leading character in our own lives and contribute to something larger than ourselves.
