Acclaimed storyteller Martin Dockery makes his Boston debut as part of the local performance series "The Fourth Wall Presents..." This production will feature a unique collaboration with the musicians of The Fourth Wall, who will serve as Dockery's opening act and resident house band. Delirium plays at 8:00 p.m. on February 16 & 17 at The Lily Pad, in Cambridge's Inman Square.
In Delirium, Dockery retraces the narrative of his grandfather's book on butterflies, connecting his own true stories to universal themes of love and death. Equally comical and heartbreaking, Delirium takes audiences from a Toronto airport to the Nevada desert, and from a Brooklyn apartment to the Mexican haven of the Monarch butterfly, recounting tales of falling in love and falling apart. Based in Brooklyn, Dockery is an award-winning storyteller, playwright, and actor who has headlined storytelling festivals and garnered praise at theater festivals around the globe.
The Fourth Wall was founded in 2010 by flutist Hilary Abigana, bass trombonist C. Neil Parsons, and percussionist Greg Jukes, all conservatory-trained musicians who are also dancers and actors. Currently in its inaugural season, "The Fourth Wall Presents..." is a series which pairs the ensemble's interdisciplinary approach with an eclectic roster of performing artists, showcasing works that defy description and transcend genre.
