The Extremes return to Cotuit Center for the Arts after performing there two years ago to sold out houses. Linda Auerbach, Joanne Callum Powers, Nancy Crosby, Barbara Ehle, Lynn Ellison-Murphy, and Barbara Vlachich return to premiere their original soap opera, "It's a War Out There". Directed by Joanne Callum Powers, the soap opera is written and performed by 6 daughters telling their story of growing up with dad in the wake of WWII.

When the war was over dad became a "warrior without a war". He traded his rifle for the brief case and the battle at home was waged. Dad taught us that life is short, life is tough, don't forget to smile, look them right in the eye, wash your hands before dinner, and don't forget... "It's a War Out There".

The Extremes, founded in 2000 by a collective of dance artists, blend music, theater, dance, soap opera and the art of storytelling. They have been teaching, performing, and choreographing for over 30 years. They have graced many stages on Cape Cod including Harwich Jr. Theatre, Academy of Performing Arts, Big and Small Puppet Theater, Cape Cod Community College, and Provincetown Playwrights. The Extremes are working together with Berklee College of Music composer, Bryce Kanzer to create an original score for this show. They are also joined by writer/performer, Christine Rathbun. Her acclaimed one-woman shows, "Reconstruction, or How I Learned to Pay Attention" and "Giant Women" were MCC grant finalists. Her work has been featured in the magazine, MAMM as well as the literary journal, Ars Medica.

Performances will be held at 8:00 PM on November 6 & 7 , 2009 at Cotuit Center for the Arts. General admission tickets are $20; $18 for Seniors and CCftA Members and $10 for Students.
