The award-winning Company Theatre announces their 2013 Theatre Season featuring the best in music, comedy and mystery.
Opening the exciting 2013 season is a national tour regional premiere of The Great American Trailer Park Musical, performing from February 13 through 17. "South Park" meets "Desperate Housewives" in this big hearted musical with a cheeky script and infectious musiC. White trash has never been so entertaining! This production is appropriate for adult audiences.
Get ready to paint the town and all that jazz with Chicago, performing from April 5 through April 28. This sharp edged satire with a dazzling score that inspired Bob Fosse's brilliant choreography was the winner of six Tony Awards, and the big screen version won an Oscar for Best Picture.
Silliness ascends to an art form with Company's regional premiere of Monty Python's Spamalot, performing July 26 through August 18. Rife with many of their trademark naughty bits, this comic musical tells the story of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Featuring a bevy of show girls, killer rabbits and rude French people, Spamalot comes equipped with madcap hijinks, medieval sight gags and hilarious production numbers.
For the fall season, the murder-mystery Deathtrap takes the stage from October 4 through Oct. 20. A writer whose recent plays have been flops is prepared to go to any length to improve his fortune. Deathtrap provides twists and turns and sudden shocks in such abundance that audiences will be held spellbound until the very last moment.
The 2013 Theatre Season wraps up with the joyous holiday classic A Christmas Carol, performing November 29 through December 22. This timeless Charles Dickens classic has become a South Shore tradition, with its charming storybook sets, ghostly special effects and joyous holiday music.
The Company Theatre also features a spectacular 2013 series of Special Events, featuring An Authors Night Discussing Writers, Gangsters, Killers & Thieves (January 11-12), Ronan Tynan (January 26), The Movin' Out Band's Tribute to Billy Joel (February 2), A Tribute to Peter, Paul & Mary (February 8), Jim Witter's The Music of Simon & Garfunkel (February 9), A Couple of Blaguards (February 23-24), Grease Sing-A-Long (March 2). Defending the Caveman (May 4), and Britishmania: A Tribute to The Beatles (May 18).
