Friday November 6, 2009 - 8:00 PM TCAN PLAYERS present Agatha Christie's THE UNEXPECTED GUEST
On a foggy night in Wales, a stranger walks into a house to find a man murdered and his wife standing over him with a gun. The woman is dazed and her confession unconvincing so the unexpected guest decides to help her blame the murder on an intruder. As the murder is investigated, a Pandora's box of love and hate, suspicion and intrigue is opened in this lesser known Christie jewel.

Directed by Matt Cederholm, and presented by TCAN Players, the Metrowest region's award-winning community theatre troupe.

The story starts when a man breaks down near an isolated house and enters, finding the body of a dead man slumped in a chair. A woman stands over the corpse, gun in hand, and confesses to the murder.

A straightforward case of murder? Maybe. But then again, maybe not.

Agatha Christie was an English crime writer of novels, short stories and plays. She also wrote romances under the name Mary Westmacott, but is best remembered for her 80 detective novels and her successful West End theatre plays. Her works, particularly those featuring detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple, have given her the title the "Queen of Crime" and made her one of the most important and innovative writers in the development of the genre.

Christie has been referred to by the Guinness Book of World Records as the best-selling writer of books of all time and the best-selling writer of any kind, along with William Shakespeare.

Over the next two weekends, the award-winning TCAN Players present six performances of The Unexpected Guest, November 6-15. Choose your seats online or call our box offIce Today at 508.647.0097, x201.
