Kids' Cabaret is a non-profit organization that allows today's youth (ages 8-16) to immerse themselves in the arts of theater, music, and dance. Kids' Cabaret is a summer musical theater program based in Hingham, Massachusetts where kids are given the opportunity to perform in a full-length musical. It also is fully run by young adults who have the opportunity to direct, produce, choreograph, paint, design, build, teach, and conduct for performances.

This year's show, SEUSSICAL, combines many beloved Dr. Seuss characters and stories into one musical. The show incorporates over fifteen titles, including "The Cat in the Hat", "Horton Hears a Who", "Horton Hatches the Egg", "Gertrude McFuzz", "Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories", "I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew", "Hunches in Bunches", "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," and many more!

Narrated by the Cat in the Hat (Peter Kirby), SEUSSICAL follows the tale of Horton the Elephant (Evan Ayer) in his quest to save the town of Whoville, a planet that exists on a speck of dust. Who Citizens Mr. Mayor (Josh Crosby), Mrs. Mayor (Shea Kushnir), and their daughter, JoJo (Olivia Barbuto) find themselves in trouble as General Theodore Schmitz (Devan Kushnir) leads them into a seemingly pointless war. What's more, their planet is in danger as it precariously floats through the air with no one but Horton to protect it.

While Horton strives to help the Whos, members of the Jungle of Nool, such as the Sour Kangaroo (Emma Burleigh), the Wickersham Brothers (William Brady, Andre Levoie, and Shawn Collins), and the Bird Girls (Tess Leonard, Casey Hussey, and Lilly Whelan) claim Horton is insane for believing a speck of dust can speak. However, he finds support in his neighbor Gertrude McFuzz (Kate Wahle) who seeks Horton's affection, while Mayzie La Bird (Maddy Wendall) seeks only attention and deters Horton in his journey.

Don't miss the chance to see your favorite childhood stories brought to life on stage this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Hingham High School (17 Union St, Hingham, MA) starting each night at 7 PM! Admission is $6 for students/seniors and $10 for adults.
