Steps Theatre (a division of Steps Off Broadway) will be opening their final full production of the summer. There are 8 upcoming performances of Oliver the Musical. There will be 7:30 PM performances tonight, August 9, and August 15, 16, 22, 23 and 2:00 PM performances on August 10, 17, 24. All performances will be held at Steps very own intimate theater at 799 South Main Street in Bellingham.

Oliver is a classic Dickens story about a boy who wanted more. Orphaned Oliver Twist goes from mistreatment in the London workhouses to falling in with a gang of pickpockets led by the roguish Fagin, the kindhearted Nancy, and the menacing Bill Skyes, before finally finding a home. Lionel Bart's musical Broadway version won 7 academy awards including best picture and will be brought to life on the Steps Theatre stage. This is a classic family show for all ages.

In this production, Steps Theatre is thrilled to have Kristopher Kyer back from LA as the guest director and also playing the role of Fagan. Kris first came to Bellingham as the title role in Wonka and returned last year as Captain Hook in Peter Pan. He also directed both of those productions. Peter Pan has received 2 DASH nominations this year with the awards ceremony this month. Mr. Kyer was most recently seen as Dick Van Dyke in the feature film "Saving Mr. Banks". Kris Kyer is joined by Bellingham's own Keith Mottola as choreographer and over 30 local performers.

Steps Theatre will be holding an Opening Night "Gala" which will start at 6:15 PM. Tickets for opening night are $25.00 each and will include beverages, cheese, and snacks before the 7:30 curtain time. Tickets can be purchased at www.stepsoffbroadway.com. Tickets for all other shows are $18.00 each.
