Steps Off Broadway Celebrates America This July with Irving Berlin's ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, 7/5 - 7/20

ANNIE GET YOUR GUN is the perfect way to celebrate America, with a story and music sure to delight your entire family. The musical opens July 5, with continued evening performances on July 11, 12, 18, 19 at 7:30pm, and 2:00pm matinees on Sundays, July 6, 13 and 20.

"ANNIE GET YOUR GUN" the musical fable based on the life of the legendary shot, Annie Oakley, was the greatest box-office triumph of celebrated American composer, Irving Berlin. The score is, arguably, his best, yielding at least half a dozen hit songs. One of these, "There's No Business Like Show Business", has since become the unofficial anthem of the American theatre. This is the beloved tale of the little girl from the hills, who because of an uncanny talent with a rifle, finds herself a part of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, and hats-over-spurs in love with the show's narcissistic star, Frank Butler.

Stephanie Urko steps up to the target as Annie, hitting a bullseye with an enchanting, powerhouse personality and a glorious voice to match. She belts out classic tunes like, "You Can't Get A Man With A Gun", Wonderful" and the show stopping, "I Got The Sun In The Morning And The Moon At Night" with ease. Johnny Fullerton is the handsome heartbreaker, Frank. He masterfully croons and soars his way through the songs "The Girl That I Marry", "My Defenses Are Down" and "Bad, Bad Man", and when he and Urko join vocal forces on "Old Fashioned Wedding" and the iconic, "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better" it brings down the house.

Directed by Michael La Fleur and choreographed by Keith Mottola, this musical is a feast for the eyes, with a charming and oh-so-clever interpretation of the great traveling western sideshows of 1800s. Staged in front of a panoramic western sky, vivid characters from America's history such as Buffalo Bill Cody, Pawnee Bill and Chief Sitting Bull all come to life in this hilarious musical.

Tickets are $15 for general admission. The musical will play at Steps Off Broadway Theatre, located in The Bellingham Plaza at 799 South Main Street, Bellingham MA.
