Oberon, the American Repertory Theater's destination for theater and nightlife on the fringe of Harvard Square, has announced programming for the remainder of the 2011 season. The home of the A.R.T.'s hit productions of The Donkey Show, Cabaret and Prometheus Bound, Oberon will present Sandra Bernhard's I Love Being Me, Don't You November 1 through the 4.
In the Boston premiere of Sandra Bernhard's latest show, the entertainer is backed by a band for this no-holds-barred evening blending humor, satire and energetic live performance. The production follows the June release of her comedy album of the same title.
Since she made her debut at the Comedy Store in the ‘70s, Sandra Bernhard has been challenging fans and critics with unforgettable stage shows, including Without You I'm Nothing, released as a feature film, Excuses for Bad Behavior, Giving ‘Til It Hurts, Hero Worship, the Love Machine and Everything Bad and Beautiful. Bernhard has performed her work in extended runs off-Broadway, as well as numerous tours throughout the U.S., Europe, and now Cambridge.
