"I am very excited about our 2015 season at GSC because of our wonderful line-up of playwrights, directors, actors, designers and staff that we are assembling, explains Walsh, "Each play has a unique, contemporary message that will engage our audience - full of heart, humor and intelligence. We are excited to expand our programming and know there will be something for everyone!"
The 2015 season features a new Israel Horovitz Gloucester play, a Pulitzer Prize winner, an Obie Award winner, a world premiere, and a collaboration with another professional theatre north of Boston plus new performance times, lower ticket prices, and an increase to 7 Mainstage productions each with longer runs to extend the season from May through December 31, 2015.
"Gloucester Stage has such an extraordinary history, I'm pleased to build upon that this season," said Jon Wojciechowski, the theatre's executive managing director. "We are working hard to get back to our roots, produce unexpected theatre at prices everyone can afford, and to introduce more people to new and interesting work. This theatre comes alive when it is filled with people."

OUT OF STERNO
By Deborah Zoe Laufer
Directed by Paula Plum
Dotty's life in Sterno with her husband Hamel is absolutely perfect! It's a fairy tale, it really is. True, in their seven years of marriage Hamel has forbidden her to leave their tiny apartment or speak to anyone, but Dotty is so very happy to spend her days watching video re-enactments of the day they first met. When a phone call from a mysterious woman threatens to tear her world apart, Dotty must venture out into the vast city of Sterno and try to discover what it is to be a "real" woman. Out of Sterno explores the triumph and heartbreak of growing up and the contradictory societal pressures women face just trying to make it across town. Veteran award-winning actress and director Paula Plum who most recently starred in 2014's Auld Lang Syne at Gloucester Stage, directs the wickedly funny Out of Sterno. Deborah Zoe Laufer's Out of Sterno runs from June 25 through July 18 at Gloucester Stage. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm.

Their surreal routine is interrupted by Patsy, a fishmonger who ends up offering the sisters more than just the catch of the day. The New Electric Ballroom won the OBIE Playwriting Award. Directed by Gloucester Stage Interim Artistic Director Robert Walsh, the production features Derry Woodhouse, Marya Lowry, Adrianne Krstansky and Rockport resident and GSC favorite Nancy E. Carroll. THE FLICK
By Annie Baker
Directed by Bridget Kathleen O'Leary
The 2014 Winner for Pulitzer Prize for Drama, The Flick is set in a run-down movie theater in central Massachusetts and follows three underpaid employees as they mop the floors and attend to one of the last 35-millimeter film projectors in the state. Their tiny battles and not-so-tiny heartbreaks play out in the empty aisles, becoming more gripping than the lackluster, second-run movies on screen. With keen insight and a finely-tuned comic eye, The Flick is a hilarious and heart-rending cry for authenticity in a fast-changing world. Bridget Kathleen O'Leary makes her Gloucester Stage directing debut with this Pulitzer Prize winning work. Annie Baker's The Flick runs from August 20 through September 12 at Gloucester Stage. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
