Jamie Ross and David Engel headline the third and final show of the summer salute to Jerry Herman by the Waltham, MA based company. The entire summer has been a tribute to Herman and his musicals.
Following a season of Hello, Dolly! and Mame, La Cage closes out the summer with an August 13th matinee preview followed by a formal 14 August evening press opening. The production runs through 22 August.
Herman is a recipient of this year's Honorary Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement. Months before the award was announced, the Reagle group had decided to honor the composer-lyricist with an entire summer season devoted exclusively to his works. Throughout the past year,
Mr. Herman has generously contributed to the planning as an advisor from the coast.
Jamie Ross a veteran of fifteen Broadway shows (including La Cage) plays Georges, a role he appeared in opposite
George Hearn on Broadway. Engel, the musical's original "Hanna from Hamburg," plays Albin. A six time LA Ovation Award recipient, Engel has previously played the famed role in other venues. His Albin has been lauded as exemplary by
Jerry Herman.
Directing and choreographing the entire production is
