The Provincetown Theater announces today the induction of three new members to The Theaters Board of Directors and Tristan DiVincenzo as the Executive Artistic Director. The newly elected members of the community represent diverse backgrounds, skill sets, and interests. They are: Allison Baldwin, Jack Hornor, and David Wilson.

"I am so thrilled to have established relationships with these three remarkable new Trustees of the Board of Directors of the Provincetown Theater Foundation. They are passionate about the Provincetown Theater, the arts, and are leaders in their fields and within the community. Each brings a diverse set of talents to the Board," said Brian Carlson President of the Board. "I know this group will strengthen the organization and together we will put into action the Boards belief that this cultural institution belongs to everyone."

"We are happy to welcome these exceptional leaders to The Provincetown Theater Board," said Vice President Tom Boland. "They are all deeply committed to supporting the arts here in Provincetown."

Allison Baldwin is co-owner of Roux Bed & Breakfast - a critically acclaimed and award-winning Guesthouse located in Provincetown's East End Gallery District. Ms. Baldwin spent twenty-five plus years in senior human resource leadership positions across the retail and not-for-profit sectors specializing in start-ups, turn-arounds and re-engineering efforts. Baldwin spent her early career launching start-ups in the not-for-profit world and brings marketing skills gained both there and during her tenure with It's An Agency Thing, a boutique marketing agency she owned and operated with her wife, Ilene Mitnick.

David Wilson is the only child of African American parents, born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating from Northeastern University with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Business Administration, he began a 30-year career with Verizon Communications. Following his early retirement from Verizon, David worked for Spaulding and Slye, Colliers, a regional Real Estate Development Company.

David has been an active member of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community for over 20 years. He is former Chair of the MassEquality Board, the Human Rights Campaign board, the MA GLBT Youth Commission, the National HRC Business Council and currently serves on the Board of Directors of GLAD, Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders. David and his husband, Rob Compton, were one of the seven same-sex couples that sued the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the right to marry in the Goodridge vs. The Department of Public Health. The case was settled in favor of the plaintiff couples by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court on 11/18/03 opening the door for David and Rob to be one of the first same-sex couples in the United States to legally marry on 5/17/04. David currently is a diversity consultant specializing in race, gender and LGBT diversity and inclusion training. His client base includes Corporate, Non-profit and Community organizations offering Local, State-wide and National diversity and inclusion programs.

Jack Horner is an experienced fundraiser with a commitment to collaborative work and to continually improving the missions of the organizations he has worked and volunteered for. He is a strong communicator and has vast experience in education and business. He is a former Acting Director of Development for Tapestry Health Systems where he worked with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operations Officer (COO) to provide leadership in articulating and implementing the fund raising goals and objectives of the agency. Assisted the CEO in developing a strong program of raising private funds and other financial and community resources in support of the agency

On Sunday, December 20th, the Board voted to promote Tristan DiVincenzo to the position of Executive Artistic Director. DiVincenzo will steer the creative and fund raising aspects of the Provincetown Theater and all its projects. He will be the organizations first artistic director since 2006.

"Tristan DiVincenzo's exceptional talent and understanding of the spirit of Provincetown Theater heralds a promising new chapter in the story of our theater community," said Brian Carlson.

Lynda Sturner, former Artistic Director, added, "As the birthplace of modern American dramatic theater, The Provincetown Theater today possesses unbelievable potential, which I am confident will be successfully harnessed and revealed through Tristan DiVincenzo's vision."

Divincenzo has held the post of Technical Director and then Programming Coordinator for the past year. His work in 2015 season included designing and building "The Gift", The Provincetown Players Centennial Celebration, The Summer Broadway Series, and Susan Glasspell's "THE VERGE". Prior to his position he served for the past four years as Scenic Charge and Propmaster for Cape Rep, Harwich Jr Theater, and Eventide Arts, as well as finding time to direct and design multiple projects for Cotuit Center for the Arts. He was also the founding director and builder of The Cotuit Center's Black Box in 2010.

Responding to the appointment DiVincenzo said, "The Provincetown Theater is one of the Cape's prominent theaters and I am honored to serve as Executive Artistic Director. It is such a privilege to help develop a vision for its future. This new group of leaders are looking forward to guiding the company through its next phase of development." He added, "This Theater is an extraordinary community space, full of extraordinarily talented people, and I look forward to cultivating the most exciting, accessible and ground-breaking work our unique community of artists has to offer."

Divincenzo hopes to draw attention by creating a new energetically adventurous voice for the theater with the 2016 season and attract Cape wide talent and audiences. The overall goal is to not only boost visibility and ticket sales but to transform our perception of what a community theater can be.
