Providence Black Repertory Company opens Theater Season

It isn't like there hasn't been anything going on over at The Black Rep since the end of their 2005-2006 season. Nearly every day there is an event at the Xxodus Cafe. From Caribbean performers and storytellers to salsa lessons, the public programs at the Black Rep are at the heart of the theatre's multidisciplinary artistic vision.

Director Don Mays returns to the Black Rep to direct The Colored Museum after directing Yellowman in February 2006. Recognized as Rhode Island's first Black filmmaker, Mays has been directing film/video and live theatre for over fifteen years. Mays is also a founding member of Momma's Reel Black Market Films, a collective of African American film professionals, and a Black Rep Affiliate Artist.
