Are you ready to take your TED talk out of your head and into the world? Wondering if you have what it takes or how to get going? In a powerful, take-no-prisoners presentation, Boston Women in Media and Entertainment's live interview series "The Story Behind Her Success" presents Terri Trespicio on October 11 at Laugh Boston, hosted by award-winning broadcaster, Candy O'Terry

New York-based writer, branding consultant, in-demand TEDx talker and stand-up comic, Trespicio will outline the what, where, when, why and how to get your TED talk ready for prime time. You'll leave with real takeaways and an ally who can help you succeed. After her presentation, Trespicio will sit down for a one-on-one interview with O'Terry. They'll discuss her New England roots, her road to TEDx success, and the bumps along the way.

This event, which also will feature a Q&A session and meet and greet, is presented in partnership with Nickerson and Innovation Women. Proceeds will benefit BWME Cares, the organization's professional development fund. Tickets include light fare and a cash bar and are available at www.BWME.org.

How does she know? She's done it.

Trespicio works with individuals and organizations to help nail their messaging and engage clients, customers and fans. Her TEDx talk "Stop Searching for Your Passion" has earned more than 3 million views to date. An in-demand speaker, Trespicio speaks widely at national conferences and events, including TEDxKC, TEDxStLouisWomen, BlogHer, Workfront, NAPO, Public Relations Society of America, and Blackstone. She was rated the #1 speaker at Barron's Top Women Advisors Summit and at HOW Design Live. Trespicio also performs comedy all over New York City, including Caroline's, Dangerfield's, Gotham, Broadway and New York Comedy Club.A former magazine editor and radio host at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, she has appeared on
"The Today Show," "Dr. Oz," "The Early Show," "The Martha Stewart Show" and "The Anderson Cooper Show." She's written for Oprah magazine, Marie Claire, Prevention, Business Insider and MindBodyGreen, among others. Her essay "The Rules of Boxball" won first place in the Baltimore Review in 2016.

She's the creator of Tapped to Speak, a six-week online course designed to help experts create their stand-out signature talks, and co-creator of Lights Camera Expert, a six-week course that aids experts and entrepreneurs in getting and keeping media attention.

"The Story Behind Her Success" shines the spotlight on women in the media and entertainment. It reveals the stories behind their success, including the difficulties they have encountered. The signature series is the brainchild of O'Terry, former co-host and creator of the award-winning show "Exceptional Women" on Magic 106.7.
