The Winthrop Playmakers are partying like it is 1985 with their Production of "The Wedding Singer!" The Winthrop Playmakers, recently voted Best Theater Group in the Boston Area by Top of the Heights/CityVoter, would like to cordially invite you to the October musical production of "The Wedding Singer" a musical comedy, book By Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, with music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin.

Based off of the 1998 movie, "The Wedding Singer" takes place in 1985 in the heart of Ridgefield, New Jersey and Robbie Hart is the rockin' local wedding singer. He's the life of the party, until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie works through his pain performing at local events and helping his co-worker/friend, Julia, plan for her upcoming wedding. Several twists and turns arise as Julia and Robbie grow closer during their time together and they have to decide whether they have chosen the right path to follow.

Crimp that hair and break out your Day-Glo clothes and come and join this truly talented cast as they moonwalk their way through this hilarious comedy. We're gonna party like its 1985!

The Playmaker's production of "The Wedding Singer" is directed by Kevin Michael Morin, choreographed by Chad Flahive with musical direction by Jesse R. Call.
