Warren Leight's Tony Award winning play SIDE MAN is now running at the Cape Rep Theatre through October 17.
Clifford Glimmer tells the story of his father, Gene, and his fellow "side men" - musicians' musicians, versatile trumpet and horn players who could jam with the greats, blow you away with their solos and lived for "the gig," no matter what was sacrificed. Experience the rise and decline of New York jazz through an intimate look at the men who lived the music. Winner of the 1999 Tony Award for Best Play, Side Man is a beautiful, soulful story steeped in the love of that uniquely American art form, jazz.
The production is directed by Victoria E. Flores and features a casts inclkuding
Ethan Paulini as Clifford, Janet Constable Preston as Terry, Holly Erin McCarthy as Patsy, Rob Anderson as Gene, David Wallace as Al, Robert Bock as Ziggy and
Michael Weber as Jonsey.
The performance schedule is as follows:
Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 pm
Sundays at 2 pm, except Sunday September 19
Wednesday performance October 6 at 7 pm
