The roads connecting the Upper West Side to the Berkshires have been well traveled by Julianne Boyd. As the artistic director & founder of the Barrington Stage Co. she has always presented "Broadway caliber" works as well as new and experimental productions to her ever growing Berkshire audiences. It has also been a "two way road" with Barrington sending back to Broadway some pretty impressive BSC productions. ‘THE GAME starring Drama Desk winner Rachel York & Graham Rowat may be the next one to travel that road (along with the just completed sold out run of Mark St. Germain;s "The Best of Enemies).
THE GAME is a sexy, heart-pounding musical of Seduction, Betrayal and Revenge based on the 18th century scandalous novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses. It returns to Barrington Stage where it received its world premiere in 2003 to critical raves. The musical score is by Megan Cavallari with book and lyrics by Amy Powers and David Topchik. In addition to Rachel York & Graham Rowat the musical features returning BSC actors, Joy Franz, Analisa Leaming, Chris Peluso, Amanda Salvatore, Sarah Stevens, Christianne Tisdale, Amy Decker, and Stephen HorsT. Taylor Anderson, Michael Hewitt, Hannah Richter and Michael Wessells make their BSC debuts.
Choreography is by Daniel Pelig, music direction by Darren R. Cohen, settings by Michael Anania, costumes by Jennifer Moeller, lighting by Jeff Croiter and Grnt Yeager.
