Cape Rep Theatre's 32nd season continues with the New England Premier of Jaclyn Backhaus' Men On Boats, June 22nd through July 22nd: Tuesdays thru Thursdays at 7 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sunday July 2nd at 2 pm. Check out a first look at the show below!
In 1869, one-armed explorer John Wesley Powell and his crew of 9 men in 4 boats went down the Colorado River into the Grand Canyon, not knowing what lay ahead. This great adventure is reenacted by ten women -- the rapids, the rations, the ride of their lives- an ingenious, hilarious, brilliant new play and a hit of the season last year at New York City's Playwright's Horizons.
Directed by Cape Rep Associate Artistic Director, Maura Hanlon, the creative team includes Set Designer Ryan McGettigan, Lighting Designer Phil Kong, Costume Designer Robin McLaughlin, and Sound Designer Aaron Mack, with Stage Manager Allison Davis.
The cast features Cape Rep company members Trish LaRose, Alison Weller, Amanda Collins, Victoria Flores, Cara Gerardi, Lindsey Erin Agnes and Leanne McLaughlin with Jess Andra, Emily Murray and Tabatha Gayle making their Cape Rep debuts.
Cape Rep's 2017 season is made possible with the generous support of Cape Air and Preston Scott Cohen, Architect. Men On Boats is sponsored by The Candleberry Inn.
