Cape Rep Theatre's annual Summer Starlight benefit gala was held with great success this past Monday, July 13. Guests enjoyed a beautiful evening with flowers by Patrice Milley Floral Designs, delicious hors d'oeuvres by The Belfry Inn & Bistro, oysters by Big Rock Oyster Co & Lou Concra, sweet treats from Chatham Candy Manor and Cocktails courtesy of Friends' Marketplace and Main Street Wine & Gourmet of Orleans, while the music from the Bart Weisman Smooth Jazz Group completed the night. State Senator Dan Wolf lead the auction raising over $20,000.00 for Cape Rep.
Cape Rep was honored to have acclaimed actor Laila Robins as the guest of honor at this years event. Ms Robins, along with her partner Robert Cuccioli and Cape Rep company members Damian Baldet and Alison Weller, performed scenes from Antony & Cleopatra and A Streetcar Named Desire for the sold out house. The performace was followed by an audience conversation in the intimate 130-seat theatre with Laila, moderated by Improper Bostonian magazine's lead columnist Jonathan Soroff. Laila answered questions about her experiences filming the hit Showtime series Homeland as well as sharing stories from her impresive stage career.
