PatRick Hamilton's mystery thriller Gaslight will be opening Oct 8th on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage at Barrington Stage Company. BroadwayWorld was there for the curtain call at a recent preview.

Directed by Louisa Proske (BSC's This, Peerless, Engagements), Gaslight features Mark H. Dold (BSC's This, Love Letters) as "Mr. Manningham," Kim Stauffer (BSC's The Crucible) as "Mrs. Manningham," Peggy Pharr Wilson (BSC's His Girl Friday, 10X10 New Play Festival) as "Elizabeth," Kevin O'Rourke (BSC's Camping with Henry and Tom) as "Rough," and Ali Rose Dachis (BSC debut) as "Nancy."

Gaslight, also called Angel Street, and made into the popular 1944 film starring Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman, is one of the greatest psychological thrillers of all times. It tells the story of Mr. Manningham, a suavely handsome man, who is slowly driving his gentle, devoted wife Bella to the brink of insanity with seemingly overwhelming kindness while sowing seeds of doubt, memory loss and misperceptions. A surprisingly timely play for 2017.

The production is designed by Kate Noll (sets), Beth Goldenberg (costumes), Scott Pinkney (lights), and Joel Abbott (sound). Renee Lutz is production stage manager. Casting by Pat McCorkle.

Gaslight premiered in London in December 1938, at the Apollo Theatre. When the play premiered on Broadway in December 1941, it was titled Angel Street and ran 1,295 performances. The Broadway cast featured Vincent Price as Mr. Manningham and Leo G. Carroll as Rough.

Gaslight runs from October 4-22.
