Paulus to Helm PROMETHEUS BOUD World Premiere at A.R.T. March 2011

The new musical PROMETHEUS BOUND, based on the play by Aeschylus, will have its world premiere at The American Repertory Theatre in March 2011. Directing the production will be A.R.T's artistic director Diane Paulus.

PROMETHEUS BOUND is written by Steven Sater and Serj Tankian and tells the story of a man's struggle against dictatorship. The play forwhich the show is based on is a tragedy based on the myth of Prometheus, a Titan who was punished by the god Zeus for giving fire to mankind.

Steven Sater is the Tony and Grammy Award Winning writer and lyricist of SPRING AWAKENING.

Serj Tankian is most well know for his work with the Grammy Award winning rock band 'System Of a Down.'

Diane Paulus was nominated for a Tony Award in 2009 for her work as the director of the Tony Award Winning Revival of HAIR.

Casting and additional creative members have yet to be announced.
