Calling all poets, astronomers, physicists, actors, musicians and philosophers! Award-winning theatre company Orfeo Group is once again hosting Bill Barclay's not-to-be-missed lecture on Tuesday evening, March 2nd at 7:30pm. MUSE ON FIRE, Barclay's unique 90 minute talk, will take place on the set of Orfeo Group's currently running production of THE ISLAND OF SLAVES, for which Barclay also created the sound design, at the Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts. Singers from the Tanglewood Festival Chorus will join Barclay and Orfeo Group actors to tackle questions such as: Why do you love the music that you love? Why is there no known culture that lacks music? Is music a universal language? Does ‘The Music of the Spheres' actually exist? From acoustics to astronomy, Kepler to Cleopatra, Bill Barclay will use the science and philosophy of ancient beliefs in planetary harmony to bring together musics from around the globe. Learn how Shakespeare and the Elizabethan view of the cosmos have inspired the long-lasting view of music as the perfect metaphor for the order of the Universe - and how modern science from cosmology to string theory reveals to us its deepest resonances.

MUSE ON FIRE will take place at the Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts
on 539 Tremont Street on March 2nd at 7:30pm. Tickets are free - email orfeogroup@gmail.com for reservations.

More information is available at www.orfeogroup.org.
