Off the Grid Theare Company finds a home for Equus at Make Shift Boston, a cooperative workspace for artists, activists, and creatives.
Peter Shaffer's critically aclaimed play is brought to life by director Christopher Webb who creates an intimate and visceral theatre-going experience in a non-traditional theatre space.
Revered by many as Shaffer's masterpiece, Equus will captivate Boston audiences with the grappling psychological tale of the motives behind a set of horrific crimes committed by a 17 year old boy. Part detective story, Equus was written in 1973 and quickly became a hit in the London theater scene, making its debut on Broadway a few years later. Staged in a 50-seat storefront, this intimate production will keep audiences on the edge of their seat.
The cast of Equus includes Steven Barkhimer* (Dysart), Greg Pike (Alan), Christine Power (Dora), George Page (Frank), Linda Goetz (Hesther), Alexis Scheer (Jill), Kevin James Connor (Harry), Darren Bunch (Nugget), Michelle Rubich (Nurse), Dana Nacer, Daniel Moore, and Sierra Pilkington.
Equus is directed and designed by Christopher Webb, costume design by Lara de Bruijn, and stage managed by Samantha Ma.
