OBERON, the American Repertory Theater's destination for theater and nightlife on the fringe of Harvard Square, is bringing exciting and original programming to the space in 2010. The home of the A.R.T.'s hit production of The Donkey Show, OBERON also hosts and presents the work of local and visiting talent. OBERON will present Opera on Tap on September 26th and 27th.

WHAT: OOT's original New York Chapter will co-warble with local-to-Boston divas and divos, in the great regional experiment. Can New Yorkers and Bostonians get along? Unclear, but at least they can harmonize! The chosen theme for their Boston Debut? Dysfunctional relationships in opera.

WHEN: Sunday, September 26th and Monday, September 27th at 8pm (doors open 7:30 )
WHERE: OBERON, 2 Arrow Street at Mass. Ave in Harvard Square
TICKETS: $15
"Raucous and sublime . . . un-elitist, imperfect and fun." - New York Sun
"The seemingly odd pairing of beer and baritones has been an unmitigated success, ushering in packed houses since its inception..." - Timeout, New York
America's best and most renowned divebar opera company, Opera on Tap (OOT) comes to Cambridge for two nights to shower the Boston community with opera and beer. With their irreverent, warm and casual approach to opera concert programming and bedecked in viking helmets and jeans, OOT strives to accentuate the entertaining aspects of opera while leaving the pretension out of it. The result is smashing and Opera on Tap has garnered praise for their efforts from such illustrious media outlets as the NY Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and All Things Considered/ NPR among many others. Founded in 2005 OOT has grown into a national company with successful Chapters thriving in Ann Arbor, Atlanta, Chicago, and New Orleans with new Chapters set to launch imminently in Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

Frosty drinks and sordid opera-tales will flow excessively. Yankees and Red Sox fans will both be welcome... provided they behave. Be the first to witness Opera on Tap in the Boston area!
