Everyone's favorite upside-down fairytale comes to Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) when they present SHREK The Musical, a song-and dance-filled stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film. The world of fairytales will be turned upside down in an all singing, all dancing, and irresistible mix of adventure, laughter and romance beginning Tuesday, July 7, playing thru Sunday, July 19. Press night is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8 at 7:30 pm

"I love presenting family entertainment in the summer, and Shrek The Musical will have audiences of any ages laughing all night long with its outrageous comedy," said NSMT owner and producer Bill Hanney. "The show is not only fun to watch, but it has been a lot of fun for our staff to create. The sets and costumes feature many visual jokes, and the cast and creative team have let their imaginations run wild. The result will be great summer fun that will have audiences believing in happily ever after."

To help celebrate our 60th season, North Shore Music Theatre re-creates the fantasy Kingdom of Far Far Away-with many hilarious, irreverent twists. The Tony Award-winning SHREK The Musical brings the well-loved characters to life, in a hilarious and spectacular production based on the story and characters from the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film from 2001.

The entertaining, family-friendly SHREK The Musical features the cult classic Shrek anthem "I'm a Believer" along with a score with 19 brand new songs from recent Tony Award winner Jeanine Tesori, who wrote the music, and David Lindsay-Abaire, who wrote the book and lyrics.

The 22 member cast of SHREK The Musical will be led by Lukas Poost (Shrek), Lauren Wiley (Princess Fiona), Dwayne Clark (Donkey), Benjamin Howes (Lord Farquaad), and Jacqueline Arnold (Dragon).

The ensemble includes Jillian Butler, Jake Ryan Flynn, Miranda Gelch, Katy Geraghty, Michael Greer, Grace Hardin, Emily Kelly Brady D. Patsy, Haven Pereira, Will Porter, David Purdy, Robbie Roby, Harrison Sturgeon, Jesse Swimm, Correy West, and Paige Wheat.

SHREK The Musical will be directed by Michael Heitzman and choreographed by Mara Greer. The creative team also includes Michael Gacetta (Music Direction), Nate Bertone (Scenic Design), Paula Peasley-Ninestein (Costume Coordinator), Dan Efros (Lighting Design), Timothy Schmidt (Sound Design), Michael King (Makeup Design), John Godbout (Production Stage Manager), Rachel Policare (Assistant Stage Manager), Cynthia Kortman Westphal (Assistant Music Director), and Binder Casting (Casting). SHREK The Musical is produced for North Shore Music Theatre by Bill Hanney (Owner/Producer), Kevin P. Hill (Artistic Director), and Tom Amos (Associate Producer).

Tickets for the SHREK The Musical are priced from $54 - $79. Performances are July 7 thru July 19, Tue - Thurs at 7:30 pm, Fri & Sat at 8 pm, matinees Wed, Sat and Sun at 2 pm. The 2015 Musical Season continues with the Regional Theatre Premiere of Saturday Night Fever The Musical (August 11 - 23), Billy Elliot The Musical (September 29 - October 11), Sister Act (November 3 - 15), and concludes with 25th Annual Production of A Christmas Carol (December 4 - 23), starring David Coffee as Ebenezer Scrooge.

The 2015 Concert Series includes Ballroom With A Twist (July 23 at 7:30pm, 24 at 8pm, 25 at 8pm), Rock The Yacht 2015 featuring Ambrosia, Firefall, Player, Stephen Bishop, and Robbie Dupree (July 26 at 7:30pm), On The Magic Carpet with Barbara Eden (August 28 at 7:30pm), Linda Eder (August 29 at 8pm), and Harvey Robbins' Royalty of Rock 'n' Roll (August 30 at 2pm) The Fab Four (September 11 at 8pm), and Doo-Wopp Hall of Fame (October 18 at 2pm).

The 2015 Summer Fairytale Musical Series will feature Snow White (July 17), Cinderella (July24), Pinocchio (July 31) and Sleeping Beauty (August 21). Performances are Fridays at 10am and 1pm. All tickets are $12. All shows are presented by Kaleidoscope Children's Theatre.
