The weather isn't the only thing heating up this summer … North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) will be sizzling as the hottest acts in pop, jazz and comedy take the stage this July. NSMT's 2008 Celebrity Concert Series will take audiences on a trip back to the 1960's with the Fab Four, get the whole family singing and dancing to the most popular songs of today, grooving in your seat to one of contemporary music's brightest stars, and laughing out loud at a comedic legend…and this is only the beginning of more acts to be announced and added to the 2008 Celebrity Concert Series! The 2008 Celebrity Concert Series gets off to a scorching start with RAIN – The Beatles Experience on July 1st at 7:30 p.m. Experience what Beatlemania was all about – from Ed Sullivan to Abbey Road! They look like them and they sound just like them! "The next best thing to seeing The Beatles," raves the Denver Post. All the music and vocals are performed totally live! RAIN covers the Fab Four from the earliest beginnings through the psychedelic late 60s and their long-haired hippie, hard-rocking rooftop days. RAIN is a multi-media, multi-dimensional experience...a fusion of historical footage and hilarious television commercials from the 1960s lights up video screens and live cameras zoom in for close-ups. "Uncanny! RAIN are a quartet of fine musicians in their own right…as The Beatles, they triumph!" cheers the Boston Herald. "An adoring Valentine to The Beatles," declares the Washington Post. Sing along with your family and friends to such Beatlemaniac favorites as "Let It Be," "Hey Jude," "My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Come Together" and "Can't Buy Me Love." Tickets are $42 and $50.
KIDZ BOP LIVE invades the NSMT stage on July 2nd at 6:00 p.m. It's a live show with all your favorite KIDZ BOP LIVE songs performed by a band, singers, dancers, and talented kids! Just like a real concert, there is music, dancing, special effects, and a confetti-filled grand finale. KIDZ BOP LIVE is fun for the whole family and both kids and parents are encouraged to get out of their seats, learn dance moves, and sing along. Tickets are $25 and $30.
Trumpeter Chris Botti brings his smooth and soulful blend of pop and jazz to the NSMT main stage on July 3rd at 7:30 p.m. Botti is a gifted instrumentalist, a talented composer, and a charismatic performer who has created a series of recordings which have made him a virtual genre-of-one in the realm of contemporary jazz while at the same time capturing the attention of the pop music world, earning himself both critical acclaim and mainstream appreciation along the way. Tickets are $42 and $50.
Comedic legend George Carlin returns on July 27th at 7:30 p.m. With a trademark comedic style that walks a thin line between the provocative and good taste, Carlin's career spans half a century and includes stand-up comedy television specials, numerous movie and TV appearances, and comedy recordings, not to mention his various accolades including three Emmy nominations, six CableACE awards, and four Grammys. Tickets are $50 and $60.
