"The Arsenal Center for the Arts is thrilled to feature some of the fruits of our partnership with New Repertory Theatre in a whole new light for this very special exhibit, " says Arsenal Center for the Arts Program Director, Beverly Snow. "We're pleased to offer another look at some of these incredible works that have graced the stage over the years."
"Theatre designers make an inestimable contribution to the collaborative creativity that is a production," says New Rep Artistic Director, Jim Petosa. "Their artistry and skill conspire with the playwright, director, actor, and audience to conjure a world in which the play unfolds. Inspired by the words of Tennessee Williams, who wrote about the theatre as a place that brings us truth through the disguise of illusion, this exhibit seeks to illuminate the process and the vision of New Rep's most artful theatre-makers."
"New Repertory Theatre has benefited tremendously over the years from having worked with some of the Boston area's best production designers," says New Rep Managing Director, Harriet Sheets. "In collaboration with the Arsenal Center for the Arts, we are pleased to present the impressive work of these theatre artists, and relive some of New Rep's favorite and most exciting productions."
