Thousands audition. 24 get to the stage. But in the end, only 8 will win the chance to dance. This is the story of the ones who make it... and the ones who don't! Bill Hanney's all new North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) continues its 2010 season with Broadway's singular sensation, A CHORUS LINE from November 2 - 21. Press night is scheduled for Thursday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m.

"A Chorus Line is one of the best musicals ever, and a personal favorite of mine. It is the perfect way to conclude our 2010 subscription season," says NSMT's owner and producer, Bill Hanney. "Our unique production in the round will draw audiences right into the stories of the these talented dancers. And I am especially proud of the dynamic cast that we have assembled. People will be wowed and leave the theater dancing up the aisles!"

A CHORUS LINE is the ultimate celebration of the American Musical. Audiences will share in the story of 17 dancers competing for 8 coveted spots in the chorus of a Broadway musical. Through the audition they bare their souls while sharing stories of their childhood, ambitions, fears, and experiences in show business. This groundbreaking Pulitzer Prize-winning musical is for anyone who has ever put it all on the line, whether it is for promotion, for attention, for approval, or for love.

A CHORUS LINE, conceived and originally choreographed and directed by Michael Bennett, features a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. For this new production, Mark Martino re-stages the original direction and choreography.

The original production of A CHORUS LINE opened at The Public Theater's Newman Theatre on May 21, 1975 and transferred to Broadway's Shubert Theatre on July 25th, opening there on October 19th of that year. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Score and Book, and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award. It ran for nearly 15 years, closing on April 28, 1990 after 6,137 performances. A CHORUS LINE remains the longest-running American musical in Broadway history.

A CHORUS LINE will feature Michael Bennett's original direction and choreography recreated by Mark Martino. The creative team also includes Nick DeGregorio (Musical Director), Richard Wadsworth Chambers (Scenic Designer), Jose M. Rivera (Costume Designer), Christopher S. Chambers (Lighting Designer), James R. McCartney (Sound Designer), Gail Eve Malatesta (Production Stage Manager), Kurt Domoney (Associate Choreographer), Bobby Hirschhorn (Assistant Music Director), and Natalie A. Lynch (Assistant Stage Manager).

The - 2010 season concludes with the return of New England's brightest holiday tradition "A Christmas Carol," December 3 -23, starring David Coffee as Ebenezer Scrooge.
