NSMT Adds Jazz, Comedy and Burlesque To The Fall Schedule

Bill Hanney's all new North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) is announcing many additional events for the fall schedule. Audiences will enjoy the iconic musical A Chorus Line and the return of the holiday favorite A Christmas Carol. In addition, audiences can enjoy the Royalty of Doo Wopp & the Superstars of Motown concert, Jazz great Joe Lovono performing at the NSMT's Backstage Bistro, the Life Is Nutz comedy benefit for the TriROK foundation featuring Billy Gardell (star of CBS's "Mike and Molly"). and a speciAl Halloween performance of Hansel & Gretel for the kids.

"I am excited to see that outside organizations and promoters will make use of the great spaces we have to offer here at North Shore Music Theatre," said Bill Hanney, NSMT's new owner and Producer. "My vision for NSMT has always included a full season of musicals and concerts presented by NSMT, and additional events booked in by the others in the community who want to use the NSMT stage as well as our Backstage Bistro."

A CHORUS LINE

A CHRISTMAS CAROL
December 3 - 23, 2010

With dazzling special effects that have grown even more exciting over time, traditional and original songs, and colorful costumes, A CHRISTMAS CAROL has become a holiday favorite throughout New England. Based on the Charles Dickens classic, A CHRISTMAS CAROL tells the tale of curmudgeonly miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by the ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future hoping to change his destiny and save his soul. This brilliant musical, an original adaptation directed by former NSMT Artistic Director and one of the original writers Jon Kimbell, follows Scrooge through a series of strange and magical journeys, where he ultimately discovers the true spirit of the holiday season.

This promises to be a very special evening at the newly opened Bistro where you can expect an intimate setting with a jazz megastar and his electrifying ensemble. Since the late 1980s, Joe Lovano has been one of the world's premiere tenor saxophone players, earning a Grammy award and multiple nominations. Numerous accolades for the saxophonist also include multiple wins as Down Beat magazine's Jazz Artist/Musician of the Year, Tenor Saxophonist of the Year and Album of the Year.

With the upcoming release of the motion picture, Burlesque, starring Christina Aguilera and Cher, Classic Burlesque is back in the national spotlight. And now Classic Burlesque makes a triumphant and grand return to the American Theatrical stage at North Shore Music Theatre. Harvey Robbins (Royalty of Doo-Wopp) is presenting the inaugural performance of Burlesque Hall of Fame icon Tempest Storm in Tempest Storm's Las Vegas Burlesque Revue. Tempest Storm is regarded as the greatest burlesque dancer in American history. She was the only burlesque dancer to striptease on the stage of Carnegie Hall in New York. This live striptease show features the grand return of Tempest Storm to the New England area. Miss Storm hosts an evening featuring Miss Exotic World Vegas Queens Angie Pontani and Kitten DeVille and other contemporary burlesque dancers and comedians.
