Monday Nights New Voices: Chicago, by special arrangement with Kevin Emrick, is proud to welcome home Chicago native and composer, Will Reynolds, for an evening of original songs on August 17th at Davenport's Cabaret.
The evening will feature a stellar cast of vocals from the Windy City's favorite stages including Matthew Amador (How Can You Run..), Taube Brahms (Goodman's Trip To Bountiful),Broadway veteran, Keith Byron-Kirk (Miss Saigon, The Civil War, and Will Finn's Elegies, and A New Brain), Spencer Curnutt (Steppenwolf's Up) Elana Ernst (Mamma Mia), Heidi Kettenring (Wicked), Steven McQuown (Girls vs. Boys), Rashad Naylor (Jersey Boys), Kayla Roy (Chicago Shakespeare's Macbeth).
Will Reynolds is an actor/singer-songwriter born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. His work has been heard in cabarets including: Davenports (Chicago), The Duplex and Birdland (NYC), and the Signature Theatre Cabaret series (Washington DC). His musical The Sixth Borough, written with Eric Price, was workshopped at the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma and at the University of Indiana's Premier Musicals program. In 2008 Will participated in the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project at Northwestern's American Musical Theatre Project, working with Craig Carnelia and Andrew Lippa. As an actor, Will toured North America with Mamma Mia! and most recently starred as Huck Finn in Big River at Goodspeed. Will is a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.
The series is also proud to welcome Music Director, Andy Einhorn, whose many credits include the Broadway/UK/National Tour of The Light in the Piazza. He was nominated for the LA Drama Critics Circle award for Best Music Direction for the national tour of Sweeney Todd, and served as the Associate Music Director/Conductor for Irving Berlin's White Christmas. Additionally he played keyboard on the tours of The Lion King and Mamma Mia! He served as Audra McDonald's principal coach/pianist for her operatic debut in Poulenc's La Voix Humaine and Michael John La Chiusa's Send at Houston Grand Opera. He frequently collaborates with Audra McDonald, Michael Cerveris, and Aaron Lazar.
The New Voices series, produced by David Tomczak, in association with composer Scott Alan, presents national level talent in an intimate environment. It has hosted a range of artists from Broadway composers, such as Andrew Lippa, Lin Manuel Miranda, and Craig Carnelia, to Chicago favorites such as Michael Mahler and Alan Schmuckler.
