Micah Stock, Emma Myles & More Set for White Heron Theatre's Reading of THE HARVEST

The White Heron Theatre Company today announced the cast for the reading of Samuel Hunter's new play, The Harvest, July 1 and 2 at 8 pm, at the Dreamland Theatre in Nantucket. The cast includes actors from Orange is the New Black, Ironwood, Mildred Pierce, Boardwalk Empire and the Sopranos not to mention numerous Broadway plays and projects including a Tony nomination for Its Only a Play.

"We have a very strong cast for this new play. It is exciting to work with these very accomplished actors on a new play that has never been heard," said Lynne Bolton, Artistic Director of White Heron. "It will be very interesting for our audience to see these actors and hear the play through their perspectives."

The cast includes:

Michael Countryman - Michael was born in Saint Paul, MN and is best known for Burn After Reading (2008); P.S. I Love You (2007); and Michael Clayton (2007). He played Terence Winter on the Sopranos. He currently plays FBI Supervisor Frank Wilson in Boardwalk Empire. Stage credits include: Broadway- Wit, Mary Stuart, Night Must Fall, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Face Value

Rebecca Henderson - Rebecca was born in Toronto, Ontario and is best known for her roles in Compliance, Appropriate Behaviour, and Grand Theft Auto and The Good Wife. Stage credits include: The Wayside Motor Inn, The Signature; Too Much, Too Much, Too Many, Roundabout (Underground.)

Emma Myles - Best known for her role in Orange is the New Black, Please Give and Child of Grace. Screen Actors Guild Award for Orange is the New Black.

Jacob Perkins - Jacob is best known for Boy Meets Girl, The Way I Remember it, and Stereotypically You. His theatre credits include: Red Bull De Monfort, Confessions of Sin, Barrow Street Theatre.

Cameron Scoggins - Cameron is best known for his role in Ironwood, Hunter and Game, and the Happy Sad. He played Carl Bayliss in The Good Wife and Duncan Prince in The Blacklist List. His stage credits include: Pocatella, Playwright's Horizons, Lovers, TACT.

Micah Stock - Micah was a Tony Nominee for It's Only a Play on Broadway. Playing opposite Matthew Borderick, Stockard Channing, Nathan Lane, Megan Mullaly and F. Murray Abraham. He is known for his roles in Deception, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and King Kelly. Shakespeare in the Park, The Tempest.

Elvy Yost - Elvy is known for her role in Mildred Pierce, Southland, The Office and an upcoming ABC Series The Catch. Her theatre credits include among others: New York: Pocatello (Playwrights Horizons), Curse of the Starving Class (Long Wharf), Richard III and The Merchant of Venice (California Shakespeare Theater), Arcadia (Pear Avenue Theatre). Film: Oldboy, Bandslam, The List.

A dramatic tale of religion and family, The Harvest tells the story of a young Idaho man preparing to do missionary work in the Middle East following the death of his father. However, plans grow complicated as his estranged sister enters the picture with her own mission of keeping him homebound.

2015 marks the third straight year that the White Heron Theatre Company has teamed up with Long Wharf Theatre to showcase an original play. Last year's collaborative piece, The Second Mrs. Wilson, was recently showcased on the Long Wharf Theatre main stage and has Broadway in its sights. The Tony Award-winning Long Wharf Theatre has the distinction of sending more plays to Broadway than any other regional theater in the country.

"We are thrilled to collaborate once again with the Long Wharf Theatre Company," said Lynne Bolton, Artistic Director of White Heron and President of the Nantucket Theatre Institute. "Last year's play, The Second Mrs. Wilson, was a huge success and we plan to continue this tradition for years to come."
