McGinnis, Jones, et al. to be Featured in 'A Broadway Evening' Gala, 5/21

The New England Center for the Performing Arts welcomes Broadway stars Megan McGinnis, Matthew Stocke, Gerry McIntyre, Tyrick Wiltez Jones and Jennifer Johns to the stage at Lake Pearl Luciano's.

Attending A Broadway Evening will be Special Guest U.S. Senator Scott Brown, the senator's daughter, American Idol Finalist and FSPA Alumna Ayla Brown, and Boston's cultural ambassador Joyce Kulhawik.

About the Performers:

Megan McGinnis was most recently seen touring the country in Daddy Long Legs, for which she received an Ovation Award, a Cincinnati Entertainment Award, an Acclaim Award, and an Indie Award. She was last on Broadway as Eponine in the revival of Les Miserables. Ms. McGinnis originated the role of Beth March in the Broadway musical Little Women and played a year-long run as Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Her other Broadway credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie, Parade, and The Diary of Anne Frank. Ms. McGinnis's television and film credits include Dear John, Sister, Sister, Wings, Blossom, Anywhere But Here and A Goofy Movie. Ms. McGinnis has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Columbia University. ..

Matthew Stocke has appeared on Broadway in the roles of DJ in Rock of Ages, Billy Idol in The Wedding Singer and George in The Boy From Oz. His Broadway show credits also include Titanic and The Full Monty, performing the role of Jerry more than 50 times. He was in the original L.A. cast of Wicked and appeared Off Broadway in Roadshow at New York's Public Theater. Mr. Stocke's television credits include 30 Rock, Law and Order, Conviction, The Sopranos, Law & Order - SVU, Chappelle's Show and All My Children.

Gerry McIntyre's Broadway credits include Armand on Once On This Island, Judah in the revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Anything Goes with Patti LuPone, Chicago with Chita Rivera and Ben Vereen, and Uptown...It's Hot! with Maurice Hines. His television credits included Law & Order, The Pretender, Murphy Brown and others, and he has appeared in several films. Mr. McIntyre is an acclaimed director and choreographer and a national Irene Ryan Award winner for acting.

Tyrick Wiltez Jones appeared most recently on Broadway as Howard in Finian's Rainbow following nearly four years in Broadway's Hairspray. His other Broadway National Touring credits include Seussical, Fosse, and Show Boat, with regional appearances in A Chorus Line, Dreamgirls, Chicago, and Soup Soap & Salvation. He was a featured background singer with Mary Wilson of The Supremes in the Motown/Rock and Roll North America Tour. Mr. Jones has made numerous film and television appearances throughout the U.S. and Europe. He recently completed production on the movie Joyful Noise with Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton as the Assistant Choreographer.

Jennifer Johns began as a child performer and has performed with six Broadway and National Tours in a variety of capacities including performer, dance captain, company manager, and children's choir music director. Her favorite roles include Sandy in Grease, The Narrator in Joseph, Sally in Cabaret, The Mistress in Evita, June in Gypsy, Maxene in Sisters of Swing, and Olivia in Twelfth Night. Jennifer maintains a private coaching studio throughout the year and is proud to see so many of her students earn professional credits.
