MIT's MTG is now accepting candidates to produce their spring 2012 production of Urinetown.

For those with questions about producing or those would like to submit their name for consideration please email MTG at mtg-board@mit.edu. The deadline for submission is Sunday, January 29th at 11:59PM.

Cast, production staff, and orchestra positions are open to everyone, although preference will be given to MIT students and community members in accordance with the MTG constitution.

Constitution of the MIT Musical Theatre Guild, Section 2.1: "A full awareness of the Musical Theatre Guild's affiliation with MIT will be maintained. In filling cast and production positions, priority will be given to members of the MIT community, and in particular to MIT students."

The MIT community includes all MIT students, alumni, faculty, staff, their immediate families, and Wellesley students. The membership of the Musical Theatre Guild consists of anyone who has worked on an MTG show within the past year, regardless of MIT affiliation.

MTG is a volunteer organization; compensation is not provided to production staff, cast, or orchestra members.

Urinetown features music by Mark Hollmann, lyrics by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis, and a book by Greg Kotis.

URINETOWN is a tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom.
