The American Repertory Theater expands its 2015/16 Season programming with the OBERON Presents series, featuring a range of artists, companies, and programs. As the second stage of the A.R.T., a unique club theater venue, OBERON challenges artists to explore new relationships with space, performance, and audience experience. OBERON hosts a range of experimental work -- these shows invite audiences to listen to new voices and to hear old stories in new ways. This exploration is integral to A.R.T.'s mission to expand the boundaries of theater.
Below is a list of performances and dates that will anchor the OBERON Presents series this year. Tickets from $25 are available now with 2015/16 Subscriptions. Single tickets for Ghost Quartet are on sale now, single tickets for remaining productions will be on sale from September 2, 2015.
GHOST QUARTET

Kansas City Choir Boy is a theatricalized concept album about love altered by unexpected fate. A mystery told through flashbacks, the show tells the story of two lovers in small town America who separate when one goes in search of destiny and then disappears. Borrowing themes from ancient myth, the show features songs by acclaimed composer/lyricist Todd Almond performed by rock icon Courtney Love and Mr. Almond. They are joined by a chorus of sirens and musicians. Directed by Kevin Newbury, this is a love song for the computer age and a product of the 24-hour news cycle that feeds on the stories of the anonymous "missing."

Captain Cat Coran tries to marry her son to the lofty Admiral Dame Jo-Anne but he falls in love with a lowborn sailress. This new, zany, version features versions of all the well-known H.M.S. Pinafore songs like "I'm Called Little Buttercup". A cast of ten act as their own orchestra.
