Berkshire Theatre Group and Artistic Director/CEO, Kate Maguire, are pleased to announce the addition of Jane's Café, located inside the Fitzpatrick Main Stage lobby with intimate seating for up to 36 in the back of the orchestra. Jane's Café, named after Jane Fitzpatrick, will be catered by The Red Lion Inn. The menu, created by The Red Lion Inn's Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage, Brian Alberg, includes handcrafted sandwiches, salads and sweets. Jane's Café is set to open tonight, July 2 at 5pm.
Kate Magurie says, "We are very pleased to partner with Brian Alberg, the incredible Red Lion Inn Executive Chef, and to create an atmosphere where audience members can enjoy a delicious bite to eat, watch the goings on before the show begins, talk with a couple of artists perhaps, before moving right into heir seats to watch unforgettable theatre."
Patrons can reserve a seat when purchasing a ticket to ensure indoor seating in the brand new dining area in The Fitzpatrick Main Stage-seating is limited and will be issued on a first come, first served basis. Patrons also have the option to walk up and purchase a meal to go, and sit outside under the Main Stage tent or on The Unicorn Theatre patio. No food is allowed in the Theatres during performances.
Beginning on Thursday, July 2, Jane's Café will open at 5pm for evening performances and 12pm for matinees. The Café will close 15-minutes prior to performances, and re-open during intermission.
All of the items on Jane's Café menu are made fresh daily by The Red Lion Inn, and include: "The Head Liner," grilled chicken breast, Mill River Farm pesto mayo mesclun on focaccia bread; "The Producer," marinated grilled vegetables with Rawson Brook Farm Goat cheese on Berkshire Mountain Bakery focaccia; "Exit Stage Left," turkey breast with cranberry mayo, lettuce, and stuffing on Pittsfield Rye Co. multi-grain bread; "The Lead," roast beef with horseradish mayo on a brioche roll, "The Under Study," peanut butter and jelly on country white bread; arugula salad with grilled vegetables and chick peas; grilled chicken caesar salad; and an assortment of sweets.
Brain Alberg says, "We are very excited to offer Red Lion Inn summer fare at BTG's Stockbridge Campus, and honored to serve it in the Café named after such an important figure in the preservation of the arts, and the salvation of our historic inn. Compliment the show with a visit to Jane's Café."

The Colonial Theatre, founded in 1903, and Berkshire Theatre Festival, founded in 1928, are two of the oldest cultural organizations in the Berkshires. Having united in November of 2010 under the leadership of Artistic Director and CEO Kate Maguire, these two institutions are providing the Berkshires and beyond with the finest in live theatre, music, dance and the visual arts in Stockbridge, MA and Pittsfield, MA. The Fitzpatrick Main Stage (400 seats), cataloged by the National Register of Historic Places, was originally designed and built by Stanford White as the Stockbridge Casino in 1888. The intimate Unicorn Theatre (122 seats) is a home for emerging artists and new theatrical ideas. The Colonial in Pittsfield (780 seats) re-opened in August of 2006, following a $21 million restoration, and boasts pristine acoustics, classic gilded age architecture and state-of-the-art technical systems. BTG also performs at The Garage, a music venue located in the lobby of The Colonial.
