The Huntington Theatre Company will make available $27 tickets for select performances of "Pirates! (or, Gilbert and Sullivan Plunder'd)" in a special One Day Sale on Friday, April 24. Tickets will be available online, by phone, and in person at either of the two Box Office locations.

The Huntington's periodic One Day Sales supplement standing discount ticket programs that reduce ticket prices to the Company's world-class productions to rates that are affordable for all. "'Pirates! will be terrific fun for theatre-goers of all ages and we hope that this special ticket price will help parents bring their children to the Huntington - perhaps for the first time - so they can experience the magic of live theatre together,'" says Huntington Theatre Company Director of Marketing Temple Gill.

Discounted tickets are available for the following performances:
· Friday, May 15 at 8pm
· Saturday, May 16 at 8pm
· Monday, May 18 at 7:30pm
· Tuesday, May 19 at 7:30pm
· Thursday, May 21 at 7:30pm
· Saturday, May 23 at 2pm

Pirates! (or, Gilbert and Sullivan Plunder'd) is a raucous and rowdy update of Gilbert and Sullivan's musical comedy classic. The brilliant, young creative team of Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde), John McDaniel ("The Rosie O'Donnell Show"), and Gordon Greenberg ("Happy Days") has moved the story of a motley band of pirates who are cursed to remain at sea unless they marry virgins, their apprentice - the honorable and dutiful Frederic who longs for the day he is free from servitude, his nursemaid Ruth who is hard of hearing but soft on pirates, a gaggle of virtuous sisters, and the very model of a Modern Major General to the Caribbean. The adaptation of the beloved piece by the two greatest political satirists of their time retains the complete beloved score and marks the return of Gilbert and Sullivan to the Huntington.

Co-conceiver Greenberg directs a cast that includes Ed Dixon ("Les Miserables," "Pirates!") as the Modern Major General and Tony Award winner Cady Huffman ("The Producers: The New Mel Brooks Musical") as Ruth. "Pirates! (or, Gilbert and Sullivan Plunder'd)" will play May 15 - June 14, 2009.

The $27 tickets will be on sale online on Friday, April 24 at huntingtontheatre.org from 9 a.m. until midnight. From 12pm until 7:30pm the discounted tickets can be purchased by phone at 617 266-0800 or in person at the Huntington's Boston University Theatre Box Office, 264 Huntington Avenue, and the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA Box Office, 527 Tremont Street.
