Harriet Harris to Perform at Cape Rep Theatre's SUMMER STARLIGHT Gala

Cape Rep Theatre presents Summer Starlight, an evening to remember with guest of honor, Tony Award winning theatre, film and television actress, Harriet Sansom Harris. Tickets for this gala celebration benefiting Cape Rep Theatre include an outdoor party with hors d'oeuvres and live jazz, a performance and audience discussion with Ms. Harris in the Indoor Theater emceed by Jared Bowen, host of WGBH's Open Studio, and a champagne and dessert finale with Harriet Sansom Harris under the stars. Ticket prices are $100 and $90 for Members and are available at CapeRep.org or at the Box Office, 508-896-1888.

Summer Starlight is Cape Rep Theatre's largest fundraising benefit and a highlight of the summer theater season. Guests will enjoy a lovely gArden Party with sumptuous oysters, delicious hors d'oeuvres provided by Abba Restaurant of Orleans, Mirbeau Inn & Spa at The Pinehills and Nauset Farms, wine and beer provided by 1620 Brewhouse and jazz music by the Alan Clinger Trio.

The highlight of the evening will be a short performance and candid discussion with Harriet Sansom Harris emceed by Jared Bowen. Guests will end the evening with champagne and handmade chocolates from the Chatham Candy Manor as they mingle with Ms. Harris under the stars.

Summer Starlight Honorary Chairs are Dermot Mulroney, Ellen Mulroney, Senator Dan Wolf and Heidi Schuetz. The event will be co-chaired by Elia Marnik and Nancy Brotherton.

All proceeds benefit Cape Rep Theatre.

About Harriet Sansom Harris

An in-demand character actress in both film and television possessed of devilish comedic timing, Harriet Sansom Harris is perhaps best known for a pair of recurring TV roles, first as Frasier Crane's gleefully unscrupulous agent Bebe Glazer on the NBC sitcom Frasier, then as Wisteria Lane resident Felicia Tilman on ABC's hit primetime drama Desperate Housewives. Miss Harris most recently completed a run at The La Jolla Playhouse, of the world premiere of Joe DiPietro's play, Hollywood. She has appeared on Broadway in It Shoulda Been You, by Brian Hargrove and Barbara Anselmi, directed by David Hyde Pierce. Other Broadway credits include: Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Present Laughter, Old Acquaintance, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Cry Baby: The Musical, (Drama League Nomination), And Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she received the 2002 Tony and Drama Desk Awards. Film credits include Love is Strange, Memento, Monster-In-Law, Nurse Betty, and Addams Family Values. TV credits include: Bill and Billie, Wilfred, Desperate Housewives, Frasier, Six Feet Under, The X-Files, It's All Relative, Union Square and The Five Mrs. Buchanans.

About Jared Bowen

Emmy Award winner Jared Bowen is a familiar face to New England audiences and lovers of the arts. Mr. Bowen is WGBH's Executive Arts Editor, and is particularly recognized for his role as host of Open Studio with Jared Bowen. Also a regular contributor to the WGBH series Greater Boston and NPR's morning edition on Boston Public Radio, Mr. Bowen has been honored with two New England Emmy awards and the 2013 Commonwealth Award, celebrating exceptional accomplishment in the arts, humanities and sciences.
