The Harbor Stage Company's 2015 season will open on Thursday, June 18th with an elegant new version of Henrik Ibsen's masterwork, A Doll's House.
Newly translated and directed by Artistic Director Robert Kropf, A Doll's House will feature Harbor co-founder Stacy Fischer as the dark horse heroine Nora. Spirited and resourceful, she and her husband Torvald (co-founder Jonathan Fielding) have finally carved out a life they love-- but when Nora's great secret threatens to uproot their newfound bliss, she's forced to confront what lies beneath the picturesque world she inhabits.
Rounding out the cast of this enduring classic are Kropf, co-founder Brenda Withers, and Robin Bloodworth, who returns to the Harbor after a powerful turn in last season's Artist Descending a Staircase. Resident Stage Manager Alaina Sciascia, lighting designer John Malinowski, and set designer Sara C. Walsh will all return as Harbor collaborators on A Doll's House.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, the Harbor will once again host a Pay-What-You-Can First Friday performance for each of the season's three productions. In an effort to highlight the inspiring work of their neighbor non-profits, the Harbor will donate half of the revenue from this season's Pay-What-You-Can nights to deserving Cape charities. Provincetown's Center for Coastal Studies, an organization dedicated to understanding and protecting the Cape's unique coastal ecosystems, will partner with the Harbor for its Friday, June 19th Pay-What-You-Can performance of A Doll's House and receive half of the evening's proceeds, allowing patrons to enjoy a play while supporting two worthy Cape causes.
The Harbor Stage Company's entire 2015 season is generously sponsored by WOMR Community Radio. In keeping with the company's mission to present great plays at fair prices for the right reason, single tickets to Harbor performances are set at $20 and are on sale (along with $57 three-play subscriptions) at www.harborstage.org.
