Beginning Thursday, August 15th, the Harbor Stage Company will present the final production of their second season, Sam Shepard's modern classic Fool for Love. The tempestuous drama will be directed by acclaimed theater artist Jeff Zinn and feature performances by Artistic Director Robert Kropf, co-founders Stacy Fischer and Jonathan Fielding, and Outer Cape actor Tom Brogan in his Harbor Stage debut.

Set in a run-down motel room on The Edge of the Mojave desert, the play chronicles the wild clash of a pair of lovers locked in a cycle of passionate self-destruction. According to Artistic Director Kropf, Zinn was the clear choice to helm the project, having directed and acted in over three dozen plays at the Harbor, beginning with Shepard's Lie of the Mind in 1987. "Anyone who's worked with Jeff understands how invaluable he is to the artistic process. In his own quiet way, he relaxes the room and raises its integrity. This project is a natural continuation of our work together." Fool for Love will play through Saturday, September 7th.

Generous support for Fool for Love is being provided by the Harbor Stage's 2013 Season Sponsor WOMR Community Radio. The creative team is rounded out by Harbor Resident Stage Manager Alaina Sciascia, Technical Director Victor Johnson, Producing Consultant Erika Hanlan, Lighting Designer John Malinowski, Set Designer Jenna Carino, and Fight Choreographer Joseph Travers.

Opening weekend performances of Fool for Love will run Thursday, August 15th through Saturday, August 17th at 7:30pm, with a bonus matinee Saturday the 17th at 2pm. The final three weeks of the production will run Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm, through September 7th. In keeping with the company's mission to present great plays at fair prices for the right reason, single tickets to Fool for Love remain set at $20, and the group will once again host a pay-what-you-can night on the First Friday of the production's run (August 16th at 7:30pm).

Following Fool for Love and the ensemble's current offering, The Billingsgate Project-- praised by critics as a "thought-provoking, entertaining" piece marked by an "arrestingly idiosyncratic voice", and running through Saturday, August 10th--, the Harbor Stage Company will transfer its highly acclaimed production of The Seagull (in a new adaptation by Kropf) to Boston's Modern Theatre for a Limited Engagement (September 19th-22nd). Tickets for the Boston run ($20) are already available at www.harborstage.org. The company is holding a fundraiser, "BBQ, Bocce, and Boston" to help support their first foray beyond the Cape. Admission to the August 25th event is $55 per guest and includes dinner, drinks, a silent auction, and slightly competitive lawn bowling. More information on tickets, donations, and individual ensemble members can be found at www.harborstage.org.
