Following their critically acclaimed productions of Tom Stoppard's mindbending Artist Descending a Staircase and Robert Kropf's rich new adaptation of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, the Harbor Stage Company will conclude its 2014 season with the world premiere of John Kolvenbach's Sister Play. Performances begin today, August 14th and run through Saturday September 6th.

Kolvenbach, a longtime summer resident of Wellfleet, sets his poignant jewel of a play in a dilapidated Cape Cod cabin, where two sisters, haunted by the memory of their departed father, encounter hope and heartache in the visage of a mysterious stranger. Written expressly for the Harbor ensemble, all of the company's four co-founders-- Jonathan Fielding, Stacy Fischer, Brenda Withers, and Artistic Director Robert Kropf-- will appear in the production. Kolvenbach (Love Song, On an Average Day) will direct the premiere.

Following Sister Play, the Company will welcome back Harbor legend Jimmy Tingle for a 3-night engagement of his brilliant review "Making Comic Sense" (Sunday August 24th, Monday August 25th, and Tuesday August 26th). In keeping with the Harbor Stage Company's mission to present great plays at affordable prices for the right reason, single tickets to both events are priced at $20 and are available at harborstage.org or (508) 349-6800. A First Friday Pay-What-You-Can evening for Sister Play will take place on Friday, August 15th.

More information on tickets to all events, donations, and individual ensemble members can be found at www.harborstage.org.
