Beginning tonight, August 4th, The Harbor Stage Company in conjunction with Agnes Table presents the gritty and poetic coming of age story - Shimmer. The production marks the Cape Cod premiere of this solo-piece created by the much lauded San Francisco theater maker John O'Keefe. The New York Times described Shimmer as "bravura storytelling that etches itself on the mind".

Told as a recollection of boyhood life on a juvenile detention farm, Shimmer traces the anxieties and altercations endured by Captain Spacey (nicknamed for his Astronautical aspirations), who has dreams beyond the stranglehold of The Farm, ultimately leading to the execution of an all-out escape plan, and hopefully a freer life. Shimmer embodies the nuance and excitement felt during the "enlightenment" years of our youth.

This will be Jason Lambert's Harbor Stage debut. Other solo performance work includes Underneath the Lentil with the Mill 6 Collaborative (founder) in Boston and work with The Solo Workshop at the Flynn Space in Burlington, VT. Lambert has also worked with Annex Theatre (Seattle, company member), Theatre de la Jeune Lune, (Minneapolis, artistic apprentice/actor -- Tony 2005), and Penguin Rep (New York, actor/literary manager).

Agnes Table company member Reyna de Courcy directs. As a performer de Courcy was recently in The Whale at Playwright's Horizons and Orange, Hat and Grace at Soho Rep. She was also selected as one of L Magazines "Ten Artists You Should Know" in 2010 after performing in Christopher Wall's Dreams of the Washer King at Cherry Lane Theatre.

Video Designer Abner Soto and Set Designer Erin Sweeney round out the creative team.

"As a performer Jason Lambert is a perfect match for the Harbor" says Harbor Stage founder Jonathan Fielding. "He brings the same kind of bold, brave theater we've worked to cultivate in Wellfleet and we're thrilled to present him".

The Harbor Stage Company's 2013 season is generously sponsored by WOMR Radio.

Shimmer will be presented from tonight, August 4th, 5th, and 6th, running Sunday through Tuesday, 7:30PM at the Harbor Stage Company in Wellfleet (15 Kendrick Avenue, by the town pier). Tickets are priced at $20 and are available online at www.harborstage.org or via the Harbor Stage box office (508) 349-6800.
