OBERON, the American Repertory Theater's (A.R.T.) second stage and club theater venue on the fringe of Harvard Square, announces all the offerings to be presented at OBERON during June and July, in addition to the previously announced productions, including Visiting Artists, Artists in Residence, and Usual Suspects.


THE BIG QUIZ THING

The Big Quiz Thing, the major-league game show that you get to play, is live at OBERON every month. Quizmaster Noah Tarnow presents five big rounds of the world's greatest multimedia quiz excitement, including video puzzles and audio clues. Plus, there's hope for dummies: Smart-Ass Points for wrong but funny answers. Best of all is the $200 cash grand prize, along with show tickets, books, DVDs, CDs, baked goods, and more.

MASCULINITEASE 2: TESTOSTEROTICA

Boston's only all-male burlesque troupe, Sirlesque, is back with their second annual Masculinitiease event, hosted by Cade Rockwell. Cheeky Devine, Lotta Sass, Peter Mercury, Lucky Charming and others will shake up OBERON with their unique blend of comedy and sex appeal in a two-night celebration of men, machismo, and masculinity.

GLITTEROTICA 2: REVENGE OF THE GLITTER

Niki Luparelli will host Glitterotica 2: Revenge of the Glitter, the sparkly spectacular variety show featuring a multitude of local performing artists. ONCE MORE WITH PASTIES: A BUFFY BURLESQUE

Join A Murder of Crows as they transform OBERON into the Bronze, open the Hellmouth one more time, and make with the sexy in this burlesque tribute to the cutest of the Scoobies. Wear your 90s best, come prepared for trivia, and enjoy signature cocktails, all while we enjoy some of Boston's finest performers bringing your favorite Slayers to the stage.

EN-ER-GY is an annual showcase of a diverse cast of Boston-based artists that celebrates the wide range of talent that resides in the area. Spoken word poets, dancers, bands, visual artists, DJs, emcees, fashion designers, pole dancers and more are invited to be Energizers for the evening. The proceeds from E6 will benefit the Haley House's Transitional Employment Program, which strives to end the cycle of incarceration by supporting people returning to the community.

BIZARRO BALL: A FUNDRAISER FOR ALTERNA-TEASE

The beautiful, bizarre, strange, weird, and wild are getting together for a night of burlesque, games, contests, and prizes all to benefit Alterna-Tease: The New England Neo-Burlesque Festival. The Moth StorySLAMs are steadily spreading all over the map, gathering people and stories from all over the country. New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston have multiple shows each month. The Moth is open to anyone with a five-minute story to share on the night's posted theme. The brave of heart, or those with stories they're aching to tell, prepare personal, true tales. When the doors open, storyteller hopefuls put their names in The Moth Hat. A half hour later, names are picked, and one by one, storytellers take the stage. Each person has just five minutes. The 10 featured stories are scored by teams of judges selected from the audience. Each StorySLAM generates a StorySLAM winner. After ten SLAMs, the winners face off in the GrandSLAM Championships.

With an assist from gym teacher Jim (Dale Stones of Sirlesque), dancing STDs, and an epic, live-action contraception battle, you'll leave loving every body.

At this mid-summer jamboree, poet Anne Champion, writer/comedian We Hazard, comedian Sam Jay, Harvard Kennedy School lecturer and writer Tim McCarthy, and writer Sara Sweeney will divulge the hottest, wettest, and wildest summer stories. The improvisational, instrumental guitar-drum duo The Rococo Bang will provide the score.

Though Bomb with Matthew Flynn is a show where eccentric writers, stand-up comics, illustrators, etc. get a chance to perform a story and do a karaoke song with the aid of a live band.

Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus' celebrated smash hit continues its 5th Season at OBERON every Saturday night, bringing you the ultimate disco experience - a crazy circus of mirror balls and feathered divas, of roller skaters and hustle queens inspired by Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The party rages on the dance floor to all the best 70s hits as the show unfolds around the audience. After the show, the party continues into the night so you can live out your own disco fever fantasy!
