Franklin School for the Performing Arts Introduces New Faculty

The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) is pleased to welcome three new members to its Dance Faculty for the school year 2010-2011. Frantz Louizia, Cara Ricci, and Marina Van Winkle have joined the FSPA Dance Faculty, effective September 7th. FSPA offers instruction in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap and Hip-Hop with programs offered for all ages and levels, including classes designed specifically for boys, young children and teen beginners.

Frantz Louizia will teach Hip-Hop and Jazz. Louizia began dancing at the age of two, when his mother introduced him to Haitian folk dance. He went on to study dance at Boston School for the Performing Arts and Dean College, where he majored in Performing Arts. Louizia's dance company, Arc-En-Ciel, tours throughout New England.

Cara Ricci will instruct Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Musical Theater. Ricci has danced with Disney, Ace Entertainment and The Boston Conservatory Dance Theater. She has both taught and choreographed for more than 18 years. Ricci opened Inspirations Dance Company in Littleton, Colorado in 2005, before recently returning to the East Coast. Ricci is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory, where she earned a BFA degree in Dance.

Marina Van Winkle joins FSPA's ballet faculty. Originally from Russia, Van Winkle danced with the Kiev State Dance Classical Ensemble, appearing in both principal classical and character roles. She has taught ballet for the Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater and the Acton School of Ballet, with many of her students accepted to top ballet schools. She earned a Master's degree in Education from Kiev State University, a Master's degree in Health Education from Middlesex Community College and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy focusing on Sports and Dance Medicine at the University of Rhode Island.

FSPA's new teachers join a highly regarded faculty including Ballet Mistress Cheryl Madeux Abbott; Tracy Durso, Instructor of Children's Ballet; Clyde Nantais, Instructor of Ballet and Boys Dance; Rilla Tolmie, Instructor of Ballet; Instructor of Modern Lorry May; Jenny Oliver, Instructor of Jazz and Tap; Instructor of Tap Charlie Holbrook; and Kellie Stamp, Instructor of Jazz and Tap. Coordinator of the Dance Department is FSPA Assistant Director Tracy Lane.
