The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) will hold open auditions for its holiday musical Humbug! on Saturday, October 15th starting at 1:00 p.m., at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts, 38 Main Street.

Humbug! will be performed on Saturday, December 17th at 2:00 and 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, December 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium in Franklin. Last performed in 2009, Humbug! returns to FPAC's 2011-2012 slate of productions by popular demand. Based on Charles Dickens' classic tale A Christmas Carol, Humbug! portrays Ebenezer Scrooge's encounters with spirits and his moral awakening during the holidays, complemented by music from every genre.  The show features Franklin's Nick Paone in the role of Scrooge and a pit band of Boston's best jazz and theater musicians.

Audition times for children ages 6-8 are at 1:00 p.m.; ages 9-11, 1:45 p.m.; ages 12-13 are at 2:15 p.m.; ages 14-18 are at 2:45 p.m.; and adult performers are at 3:15 p.m. Performers should prepare 16 measures of a pop or show tune for the audition. All levels of performance experience are welcome.

A distinctive suburban non-profit arts organization founded in 1991, FPAC presents quality performances while offering opportunities for professional artists, amateurs, families and students of the arts to work together in a collaborative and creative environment.
