Starting September 18th, Boston's premier comedy venue, Nick's Comedy Stop in a new partnership with FishFace Entertainment, will open the show, FISHNET-NETWORKS.NET. An interactive, equal opportunity offender, FISHNET-NETWORKS.NET takes a live look at the office humor satire on the current state of corporate America: off-shoring, corporate-speak, job interviews, work stereotypes, and politics all mixed together for a racy, bare it all, partially scripted and partially improvised show. The audience, immediately assumed as new hires, will drive the show with their questions and suggestions, culminating with the opportunity to fire some of the company's established employees. No two shows will ever be the same! The show was written by Fishface Entertainment's founders, Sumedha Ahuja-Bahri and John Robert Murphy, and is managed by Juliet Bowler, professional Boston area actress and voiceover artist.

Back in the summer of 2008, Ahuja-Bahri, a 29 year old female patent attorney, was trying to find humor in her highly professional technical career. She was looking for an outlet to vent some of the every day frustrations and idiosyncrasies of office life in a comical way. Sumedha, also a stand-up comic and writer, posted an advertisement on Craigslist (where else would one go for a techie writing partner?) searching for someone who shared her passion. Murphy, a 45 year old hardware engineer, answered the call! They teamed up week after week after work hours through rain, shine, and Nor'easters at the Panera Bread in Burlington MA, for bottomless coffee and bagel induced brainstorming and writing.

The result was the conception of a hi-tech corporation, "FishNet-NetWorks.Net!" that uses fish as part of their networking technology, and is full of diversity, corporate jargon, and more "fish" innuendos than you could shake a fish stick at! Yes, the show is heavy on puns, but it's also heavy on social satire, and biting, hilarious commentary. What's more, audiences will help drive the action.

The show was originally work shopped at Improv Boston in the Fall of 2009, and after a two month long rehearsal process that capped a year of writing and re-writing, the show had an extremely successful, 8 week, 16 show Spring 2009 run at the Double Tree Hotel in Boston's Theater District.
"After the unexpected success of our first full run in the Spring, we knew we could not stop! The audiences wanted to see the show again, so we had to keep going for the fall season," said writer, John Robert Murphy. Thus, Murphy, and co-writer Ahuja-Bahri contacted John Tobin, Managing Director and Producer at Nick's Comedy Stop and former Boston city council member. Tobin took an immediate interest in partnering with FishFace Entertainment to present Nick's Comedy Stop's first theatrical production on a street that is already well known for Boston's oldest theater, "Shear Madness" and "Blue Man Group." "We are ecstatic to bring Boston's next biggest interactive stage comedy to Nick's! Boston needs a hilarious and smart new show like FishNet in the Theater District," says Tobin.

As Ahuja-Bahri says, "If you love shows like "The Office" or movies like "Office Space," you will love this one. It is, however, quite politically incorrect. In fact, I would say that the show is more Non-PC than a Mac! We are pretty clear about that with our tagline- An Equal Opportunity Offender!" Maybe not suitable for children under 13, but with the bar at Nick's Comedy Stop, audience suggestions driving the action, and an off based script that will have you holding your sides, Fishnet is the perfect option for a night out.

FISHNET NETWORKS. NET will be performed September 18-November 6, Saturday nights at Nick's Comedy Stop, 100 Warrenton St., in Boston's theater district. Curtain is at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $30 with $15 student rush available with valid student ID. For tickets and information, go to www.fishnet-networks.net.
